It’s inevitable in indie-rock circles that the name “Athens” conjures Georgia, not Greece, but Keep Shelly in Athens is from the original Athens. The self-described “downbeat pop” duo returns this fall with a new 12-inch EP, “Our Own Dream,” to mark its first U.S. tour.

The pair released its debut last year, and “In Love With Dusk” drew positive notices from The Guardian, which said, “this is the sound of lack and loss, of what My Bloody Valentine termed ‘emptiness inside.’” “Lazy Noon,” the streaming song from “Our Own Dream,” isn’t as dark as all that, though the song does have a hazy end-of-the-season feel that’s soulful and hypnotic.

“Our Own Dream” is due Nov. 8 on Forest Family. Tour dates:
