Black Moth Super Rainbow side project Dreamend plans August LP release

Those crazy kids in Black Moth Super Rainbow just can’t stop making music, together and apart. First we heard from singer Tom Fec, who makes electro-jams on the side under the name Tobacco. Now it’s Ryan Graveface’s turn.

The Black Moth guitarist/bassist goes plays in Dreamend on the side, and they’re planning an August release on Graveface Records for “So I Ate Myself, Bite By Bite,” an album his publicist describes as “nightmarish folk songs that chronicle events in the life of a serial killer.”

Dark, yes. But oddly beautiful, too, on free song “Magnesium Light,” where the sound of a plucky banjo and basic drum kit frame dreamy, echoing vocals that are, in light of the subject matter, cheerily harrowing. It’s compelling stuff.

Dreamend hits the road in September with Tobacco and Junk Culture for a 13-date tour around the eastern half of the United States. See dates here.
