If you like music that’s noisy, frantic and unpredictable, have we got a band for you: Thank God, a South Carolina “art-damaged hardcore” band (in the words of its press material) featuring former members of Antischism and Guyana Punch Line.

“Ice/Age” is the title track from the group’s forthcoming full-length debut, and it’s the audio equivalent of a kick in the head. The tune twists and jerks through screaming vocals and thrash-happy guitar churning before trailing off into a glowering, atmospheric coda.

“Ice/Age” (the record) is due July 20 on Exotic Fever Records.
