The new song from Sarah Assbring, who’s now recording under the name El Perro del Mar, is all about the bassline.

It’s a melodic marvel, at once catchy and pushy as it propels “Change of Heart” through swirls of guitar and piano and Assbring’s melancholy vocals. It’s from her new album, “Love is Not Pop,” due Oct. 20 on the Control Group.

The Swedish singer co-produced the album with Rasmus Hagg, who is half of the Swedish duo Studio.
